PICKED STONE AT HAURAKI. Hauraki Mines.—Stoping on Legge'3 rws[ from, the drive at tho winze and rise connection is in progress, and 10lb. of picksd stone were selected - from the north end of the winze. Stronir colours of gold are to be seen in the general dirt, which should be o£ a payable nature. Stoping operations above the intermediate drive have been resumed, and coloura of gold were seen in the quartz taken down; the reet i 3 up to Sin. in widths At the 300 ft. level the drive on the break in tho Welcome Find section hae been advanced loft., "and iB now 60ft. beyond the boundary, the country continuing of the same favourable nature for gold and prog; cess. Bieing Sun.—The shaft is down now a depth of approximately 70ft. The reef is 6in. wide and.of nice appearance. A good deal of water is making. Eeefton Mines.—Millerlon section: No. 2 level south —The reef is 3ft. wide, of a solid character, showing good values. The chamber is finished. A winze will be sunk to connect with the rise from No. 3 lev," 1 . No. 2 level north—The reef is 12in» wide,. &nd of a good solid nature, but no gold is visible to the naked eye- No. 3 level south—The rise is up to 60ft,. the reef etill. showing good values. ■ New Discovery section: The low level tunnel has passed through- a good solid reef, of which samples have been sent fox assay.
