July 26 The floods on the north coast are , diminishing, but owing to the isolation of many places affected, information respecting the damage is incomplete. Ex , j tensive damage was caused at Lismore. 1 1 scores of houses being submerged to the i roofs. Four persons were drowned in the I Richmond River, namely, three adults I and one child, bringing the total death- ! roll to six. j In the north-west and west the floods are becoming worse, and it is feared will jbe greater than any m the past. The j State meteorologist considers the stretch I of country from Boggabilla to Bourke. i 500 miles, wili be under water in a few J days.
