The tone of the Auckland sharemarket w as again firm yesterday. In Government stocks, buyers of Soldiers' Loan (inscribed stock) advanced offers to £91 17s 6d, no sellers quoting. Bonds in the same loan were wanted at £91 ss, but sellers held for £92 ss. War Loans and Inscribed Stock had sustained demand. In banks, inquiry set in for Comrnerci.iis at 255, no sellers quoting. New Zealand s sold at 495, more being wanted at 48s 6d. sellers 49s 6d. In inwirsncea, National? had buyers at 58s 6d, sellers 6is. New j Zealands changed hands at 2Ss. late sellers | asking 28s 6d, buyers etill offering 28s. ■ South British sold at 55s 6d, more being | sought at 34s 9d, sellers 565. In ship ! pirg, P. and O.'s had sellers at £555, buyers £340. In miscellaneous hue? ! Wilsons Cements had sale at 15s 9d. In ! mining. Talismans sold at 6s Id. mora j being wanted at that figure, sellers 6? 5d j For Waihis 29s 3d was offered, seller* ! 29s 9d. Grand Junctions at 10s 3d had j buyers at Ss 7d.
