TO-DAY'S FORECAST. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows:—Present indications are for easterly gales northward of Gisborne and Kawhia. and strong southeasterly winds ruling elsewhere. ~ Expect dull and misty weather, with rain fol lowing generally, probably heavy in the North. Wragge at- | seven o'clock last evening:—Overcast and threatening weather is to be expected, with rain following geiierally under the operation of the "disturbance Demoned, which at present looks uncanny, and is partly identical with the recent disturbance in New South Wales. Roug-h to heavy seas off northern coast, and also along the west coast. Stroiis: winds from between east, north-east, and north-west, veering westerly. The disturbance is at present south-west from Hokianga Heads. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Rainfall in City for 24 hours ended midnight. July 26 (Heuald gauge) .01 in.
