STOCKS AND SHARES.
Investment stocks showed a rather firmer tendency on the Auckland sharemarket yesterday. Government loans and inscribed stock had sustained demand at prices which were in some instances better than in the previous week. Banks were not in great demand, though New Zeaiands had buyers at 48s 6d, with sellers asking 49s 3d. Insurances hardened a shade. Nationals were looked for at 58s, sellers 61s. New Zeaiands sold freely at from 26s 9d to 27s 6d, sellers closing at | 7s ..r£' buyers at 27s 6d- For South British buyers offered up to 04s, sellers holding for 555. In shipping, Huddart Parkers (ord.) sold at 46s 3d, with farther seders at, same price, buyers 45s 9d S (deieiTed st «ck-! *-ere wanted at £045 no sellers quoting. In miscellaneous lines, Colonial Surar (\ust ) changed hands at £27 ss. In mininc lalismans were done at 6s 2d, with moa« on offer at that figure, buyers 6s Id \Yaihs had sellers at 30s 6d, bavers 29s od. Grand Junctions at 10s had bnver* at 9s 6d.
