THE ARCHHILL MURDER.
COLLECTING THE EVIDENCE.
DECEASED'S LAST MOVEMENTS.
The Archhill murder case is still unsolved by the detectives. Within the past few days much of the evidence has been completed, which establishes the movements of deceased, Francis Edward Jew, during the early part of the evening of Saturday, July 16, the day preceding that on which his body was discovered. So far as has been discovered, Jew. when last seen alive, was close to the vacant section on which he was subsequently found dead, and there were one or two young men with him then. The latest information in tho possession of the police suggests that he did not visit the city that night, nor did he go to the house of any of his friends. The detectives are investigating all tho statements in their possession, but are not meeting with much success, and it is considered it will take some time to develop the case to any extent from its present stage. They are still hopeful that the murderer will be run to earth, but admit that they have a difficult task before them.
