ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the St. Andrew's Society was held in the Society of Arts Hall on Saturday evening. There was a very large attendance, over which the president, Mr. J. M. Mennie, presided. Mr. A. S. Boyd, Scottish artist, formerly on the staff of Punch arid the London Graphic, gave an interesting address on Scottish humour. Mrs. Gainor Jackson, Miss Taylor, and Messrs. Ballance and Martin contributed vocal items, and an exhibition of Highland dancing was given by uie pupils of Miss McDougall. The evening was concluded with an informal dance, the chief feature of which was the dancing of the Highland schottische to the piping of Pipe-Major Ferguson
