WIRELESS TO AUSTRALIA
♦ MISSING LINK IN CHAIN. CAIRO STATION NOT READY. A. and N.Z. LONDON, July 24The Daily Chronicle says that when the Leafield power station is opened in the autumn the Imperial wireless chain will be completed, except for Cairo, where the buildings and apparatus are not ready. Leafield's capacity is estimated at 7,000,000 words a year. When the Cairo, station is opened Leafield will transmit to Australia, via Cairo, Singapore, and Port Darwin.
