MR. MASSEY'S RETURN.
ARRIVAL IN OCTOBER. OPENING OF THE SESSION. TOWARD END OF SEPTEMBER [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Monday. Cabled information received from the Prime Minister confirms the announcement that Mr. Massey will leave London for New Zealand via Vancouver on August 25. Mr. Massey will reach Wellington early in October. The date cannot be estimated confidently as he may require to spend a few days in Canada en route. The session of Parliament, as indicated in the Herald a few days ago, is likely to open on September 22, and members could be summoned a week earlier, but it does not appear at present that much advantage would be gained, since the important business of the session cannot proceed until Mr. Massey has taken his place in the House.
