FOOTBALLING FEMALES.

Sir—Having been immeasurably blessed ■with many sisters—true women, alas now no more, I view with dismay the entry of the supposedly gentler sex into the football arena. Physically women are unfitted for'such a rough game. Even hockey is.blamed for causing permanent injury to growing girls. I fear to contemplate the result when two heavyweight Amazons, "going at top" and animated by a spice of something more than "club rivalry" butt into each other. What a spectacle for men to witness; the sight of their wives, sisters a.-nd sweethearts engaged in a rough and tumble tn a duck pond like Kipling's "muddied Ooffs" and using the football vernacular. I can*only attribute this craze to the fact that modern women already, in out- J door> n bathing and ballroom. costume— I will not misapply the terms "dress or clothing"—?are sailing as close to the wind as the Police Offences Act will permit. Lovely woman, has only one more citadel to conquer—the prize ring, and when we witness female Jack Dempseyw , and Johnsons competing for huge prize money, her destiny will have been attained. My advanced' age enables me to view this sex revolution with iearless eyes, but I sorrow for my younger and less experienced brothers, hence my solemn warning and exhortation, to them to beware of prospective kicks, matrimonial and otherwise from these wouldbe furious fema l e footballers.
