SWEEPING UNIONIST WIN.
FORTY SEATS OUT OF 52.

The elections for the Northern Irish Parliament resulted in a more sweeping victory for the Unionists than was expected, every Unionist candidate being returned. The Nationalists and Sinn Feiners co-operating, expected to capture 20 seats.
The returns are practiclly complete, and show that the House will consist of: Unionists 40 Nationalists 6 Sinn Feiners 6 For the eight seats in County Down, Sir James Craig (29,829), De Valera (16,269), and Andrews (Unionist, 12,584), were elected on the first count.
