DR. MANNIX'S RETURN.
EXCLUSION DISCUSSED. Austra.lii.il and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.30 a.m.) SYDNEY. May 17. The question whether Dr. Mannix, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne, should be allowed to land in Australia is widely discussed. There is a very strong feeling in some quarters against permission to land being granted in view of his recent utterances. It is suggested that he should bo treated similarly to the Irish envoy Esmonde, who was sent back to Canada.
