A fair amount of business wa« done oh tbo Auckland sharemarket yesterday Government stocks wera again in strong demand, but few sellers were in evidence, tbe only transaction being in SoldieTs' Loan (inscribed stock). In banks New South Wales sold at £30 ss. more being wanted at £29 15s, no late sellers quoting. In insurances. New Zealands were done at' 25s 6d. with further buyers at that price, sellers 25s 9d. For South British buyers offered 29s 3d. sellers firm at 30s. In financial lines. National Mortgage changed hands at 67s 6d. Recent rates ruled in coals, gas. and shipping, and bt.siness was done in Northern Steams. There was fair inquiry for miscellaneous lines, Wilsons Cements selling at 14s lOd. In mining. Waihis had sale at 31s, with further buyers at 30s 6d sellers 31s 6d. Other linc3 were unchanged. The following sales took place :-—Soldiers' Loan (inscribed Etock). £90- Bank of \ew South Wales. £30 ss; New Tealand Insurance, 25s 6d; .National Mortgage,. 67a 6t' Northern Steamship, 15s; Wilsons Cement', 14s lOd; Waihi 31s.
