YOUTHFUL IMMIGRANTS. BRANCH OF DR. BARNARDO'S. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.5, a.m.) SYDNEY. April 12. A branch of Dr. Barnado's Home is to be established in New South Wales. A building has been purchased to accommodate 100 boys. Arrangements have been made for 50 to be sent out immediately. SYDNEY'S INFANT MORTALITY. ABNORMALLY HIGH RATE. SYDNEY. April 12. • Dr. J. S. Purdy, metropolitan medical officer of health, reported to-day that the infant mortality rate during the past six months was abnormally high, rising to over 10 per cent, in January, th'o chief causes being whooping cough, enteritis, and diarrhoea.
