TRAMCAR LEAVES RAILS.
MISHAP IN MOUNT EDEN ROAD
BOLT OF GEAR BOX BROKEN. The derailment of an outward bound traracar in-Mount Eden Road, near the railway station, shortly before 8.30 a.m. yesterday, delayed the inward traffic for some timo, and numbers of business people had to walk to Symonds Street. The mishap was caused by one of the bolts holding the gear box being broken, probably by an obstruction on tho track, resulting in tho car ranning off the rails for a short distance. This is the third, recent mishap in which the gear box of a car has been involved, the first being the derailment in Symonds Street, and the second at Heme Bay. A delay of about half an hour was also occasioned at the top of Symonds Street shortly after 6 o'clock last_ evening by a disabled car which was being towed to the Epsom Barn leaving the rails as it turned into Khyber Pass. The main leads of this tramcar having burned out near tne Mount Eden terminus, another car took it in tow, but the automatic points at the corner failed to work properly for the second car, which was derailed.
