Mr. Thomas Zillwood, who resides at Carterton, is one of New Zealand's earliest settlers. He arrived in Wellington in April, 1840. Cotton, who recently resigned from the post of Secretarv of Native Affairs in the Samoan Administration, arrived at Auckland yesterday. Cap. tain Cotton, who has been in Samoa practically continuously since the advance guard of the Expedit«6nary Force landed there in 1914, has held various offices under the military and civil administrations-. He has now finally- severed his connection with the islands, and will take a holiday before making any further plans.
