MINERS ACCEPT TEEMS-

THE GO-SLOW ABANDONED.

FEDERATION'S UNDERTAKING

TRIBUNAL'S DECISION FINAL. [BY TKUCTtAPEL —OWS CORKESPOXDEST.J WEIJLIKGTOX, Wedu«Bda.y. The tentative agreement arranged by the Prime Minister for the settlement of the mining dispute took definite form to-day. The executives of the Mineowners' Association and the Miners' Federation have accepted the agreement providing for the appointment of a committee of three to adjudicate in the dispute arising from the alleged victimisation of a man at the Blackball mine. The parties were informed of the decision by telegram yesterday.

The agreement provides that a committee consisting of Messrs. G. Elliott (chairman), R. Semple and J. Bishop shall inquire into the matter in dispute. Mr. Semple represents the miners, Mr. Bishop is the nominee of the mineowners and Mr. Elliott, the chairman, was nominated by the Prime. Minister. The decision of the committee is to be final and binding on both parties.

The agreement farther stipulates that normal operations are to be resumed at the coalmines immediately, and are to be continued for at least seven days before the committee meets.

The executive of the Miners' Federation has instructed the unions that, in compliance with the agreement, the go-slow strike is to be dropped immediately. The committee will not meet to consider the dispute until all the unions have complied with this instruction. An important feature of the agreement is that the decision of the committee is to be final and binding. Three of the miners' unions, including the State Miners' Union, are reported to have declared that they will not accept the agreement, but will continue to goslow in support of the demand for the reinstatement of the man Henderson. These declarations were made it appears, before the instructions from the executive of the .ttfiners' Federation reached the unions. The officers of the federation expect that the men will abidie by the terms of the agreement made on their behalf. No meeting of the committee will be called in the meantime.
