UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF.
I AN IMPOSSIBLE REQUEST. (Received 8.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON, Dec. 23. A deputation from leading London municipalities waited on Mr. Lloyd George and urged that the Government contribution toward the cost of labour employed in schemes started for the relief of the unemployed be increased from 30 per cent, to 75' per cent. Mr. Lloyd George replied that it was impossib'e to accede to the I request.
