ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

YESTERDAY MORNING'S WORK. . The weather experienced yesterday morning was of an ideal charactcr for training operations, and there was a large concourse ' to witness tho work. Tho outside- of the course proper was available, and. the track being in splendid order, some good times were registered. Actrice opened the proceedings by running five furlongs from the old post in lm. S 2-ss. Gloaming, looking a picture, was indulged in medium-pace work on the tan. Flowing Bowl ran nine furlongs. Ho was picked up at the five-furlong post by War Tank, who left the distance behind in lm. 1 6 2-ss. Loved One sprinted a few furlongs down from the seven-furlong post. Mermin and another ran five furlongs in lm. 4 l-55., with a pacemaker finishing in front. Trespass beat Miss Gold from the new five-furlong post. Miss Frederick, Aircraft, and another sprinted a few furlongs. Chry6o6tom beat a companion over five furlongs in lm. 5 l-5s Red Ribbon jumped off at the one mile and a-quarter post with Vespucci, registering < 2m. 17 2-55., tho once round taking 2m. 2 4-ss. It was an attractive gallop. Marble Star easily beat Monocrat over seven furlongs in lm. 34 l-s>s. Hymestra was in front of Gazique from the old five-furlong post in lm. 6s. Woody Glen and Glen Canny were close together at the end of a mile and a-quartcr gallop in 2m. 20 2-ss. The round occupied 2m. 7 2-ss. Gasbag and Winter Wind compassed a circuit of tho course proper in 2m. 2 l-55., estimated a record gallop for the course. As a result of his fine effort Gasbag's Cup prospects were further brightened. Bezant defeated Bute Sound over six furlongs in lm. 235. Mies Ellice and Geoffrey put up a good showing over five furlongs in lm. 3 4-ss. Maunu beat another from the old post, running five furlongs in lm. 6s. Arrowsmith strolled over the old fivefurlong course in lm. 3js. from a flying start. Humbug and Tigritiya fluttered over six furlongs in lm. 17 B^ss.—the best showing of tho morning. Oranga, from the Hew five-furlong post, registered lm. 6 l-ss„ without being extended. Queen Abbey spurted from the half-mile post in 51 4-ss. Early Dawn covered the same distance in 50 l-65.. boating Weldone, who went seven furlongs in lm. 355. Goldon Dream easily defeated BlusheT at tho end of a short sprinting match. Love-light and Cicmmel sprinted half-a-mile in 525.. finishng close together. Starland and First Salute were close together. with Tsnterfiel<l beaten off, at the end of a mil© and quarter in 2m. 16s. Blue Cross beat Canowindra from the seven-furlong post in lm. 35«. Commission and Trcsso ran six furlongs in the moderate time of lm. 24 4-os. Pepin beat Prince Cbarleroi over six furlongs in lm. 20 4-59. Namutere beat Loyal Irish and another from the hplf-mile poet in 51 2-ss. Mi«wi Mimic ran five furlongs from the old post in lm. 8 1-sb. King Abbey (alone) ran seven furlongs, running the last five in lm. Bs. The Hawk beat a companion over five furlongs in lm. 6s. Statuette galloped attractively over five furlongs. Cantabile beat Golden Bubble from the new five-furlong post in lm 4 3-ss. Maioha easily held Bonnie Heather over seven furlongs in lm. 32 2-5s. —an excellent gallop. Miss Abbey o.nd Miss Norra-1 were on terms in a sprintng match. R. Hannon's team of six performed steady pacing, and they all bear a well-trained appearance. ... The after-breakfast division were fairly nnmca-otre, and some interesting work was witnessed. . Luperino and Paddington Green were schooled over the big. batten© in the centre, giving a clean exhibition of fencing. Tresso gave Silver Rain 0. eix lengths' beating over half-a-mile in 52 l-ss. The latter registered 54 2-ss. . . Arch Margot beat a track mate pointless over half-a-mile in 51 4-ss. Formalin alone strode over a ehort course, but was not seriously looking for time. Deviation . ran away from Oakleigh in a course circuit run in 2m. 8 4-ss. Prince Rufus showed a clean pair of heels to Windorab. Manukau, after completing a round over the hurdles, galloped seven' furlongs in lm. 35 3-ss. on the course. Tieke was defeated by Heather Moon and Chintz from the new five-furlong post in fairly fact time. Boomaday and Persian King were at top over seven furlongs, registering lm. 345.
