None of those named endeavoured to influence the Government in connection with the Wheat Commission, but it was by no means certain that Johnston had given a full and truthful ; account of the dealings between himself and Talbot, who, Mr. Justice Bring adds, was quite unreliable and would not hesitate to descend to corrupt practices tc . gain his awn ends. j
