OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.
DWELLINGS DESTROYED. : OCCUPANTS' HURRIED' EXIT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Wedneeday. A house on Wellington Terrace, also a small garage which is used as .bachelor i quarters, were completely destroyed by fire to-night. Many of the occupants escaped in their night attire, and practic- ' allv nothing was saved. The fire was , quite spectacular while it lasted. It was feared the adjoining houses would he burned, ljut, apart from slight damage •, to a roof, no harm was done. i The house was owned by Mr. A. A. i Marryatt, a.nd occupied by Mr. J. Trim. The insurance on the house was £800 in • the Atlas Office. HASTINGS, Wednesday. A fire, which' occurred about 5.30 this morning, destroyed a six-roomed house, owned and occupied by Mr. A. M. Jones. ■ Only a few effects were saved. Mrs. Jones and her son suffered slight burns when getting out their grandfather, Mr. John Collinge, ex-town clerk. The insurance on the house is £550, and furniture £2CO.
