COMMERCIAL AVIATION.
RAPID PROGRESS IN BRITAIN. 32,345 PASSENGERS CARRIED. Australian and N Z. Cable Association. (Kecd. 10.5 p.m.) LONDON. Dec. 11. The Controller-General of Civil Aviation reports that the aggregate mileage flown by commercial aircraft since May, 1919, amounts to over 1,000,000 miles, the number of passengers carried being 32,345. Regular night flying has not been attempted, but an experimental lighthouse at Croydon has been successful, and others are being built. The use of wireless telephones is extending. In connection with Imperial air routes a new aerodrome is building at Malta. Wireless " communication is being ensured between England, Egypt, and India. The report details recent aviation developments in Australia and New Zealand.
