The conditions under which the Town Board is compelled to let the union have the use of the Recreation Ground are such as to make the scheme of forming playing fields on the Recreation Ground undesirable. An effort i s being made to enlist the support of all football enthusiasts in the proposal to buy private grounds. At a meeting of the Morrinsville Town Board it was resolved to call a pu'blimeeting to protest against the action of the Railway Department in not replying to the board's inquiry as to what were the department's intentions regarding th=> proposal to improve the railway station As the question of removing the station is possibly involved in the department's scheme and as the removal is a matter ot vital importance to the people of the town, the opinion was expressed that the town authorities should know the department s intentions as soon as possible Reference was made to the much-needed improvement in the Courthouse and the arrangements connected with the work of the Court at Morrinsville at a meeting of the Town Board. It was resolved to make the department's action in taking no notice of the repeated requests for improvements and the fact that a sum of money was on the Estimates for a new Courthouse the subject of protest at th» public meeting. The chairman, Mr E McGregor, said the Under-Secretary of the Department of Justice in "Morrinsville a few days ago, but as far as he knew he did not communicate with the Town Board or the members o? the legal profession. Mr. McGregor said the people of Morrinsville had good cause for complaint against the department for its lack of courtesy and business methods The Morrinsville Cricket Association which controls the three cricket teams playing in Morrinsville 3 : decided to form clubs of the teams, each club to have its own secretary and executive, the association to retain control of the finances until th* end of the season.
