CITY COUNCIL'S POSITION.
PROPOSALS TO BE CONSIDERED.
The proposal of the Minister for Public Works, the Hon. J. G. Coates, that one hydro-electric power board -should bo formed for the whole of the Auckland district was referred yesterday to the Mayor, Mr. J. H. Guesoxj. He said mo had had an opportunity of going into th« whole matter with the Minister who had informed him that he would forward a. communication to be placed before the City Council, Mr. Gunscn said he understood this would embody Mr. Coates' pro - posals os made to the "representatives of local bodies who were petitioning- to ho authorised under the Electric Power Boards Act, 1918, to' have their districts constituted power board areas. , ■ . The proposals which had been submitted by the Minister after his various discussions with him were, said Mr. Gnnson. very important. They would require the most careful consideration o? the council, and as soon as the promised communication was received from the Minister he would. call a special meeting to consider them. Until the council had met he was i not prepared to say what its attitude j would be, bet, he had his own views on I the subject, which in due course would he | made known to the council.
