THE MATCH ABANDONED. Australian and N-Z. Cab!© Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 9. The New South Wales versus South Australia cricket match has been abandoned. The wicket is under water and play would be impossible within two days even if the rain ceased now.

Australian and NZ. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.30 a.m.) BRISBANE. Dec. 9. The cricket match, England v. Toowoomba, concluded to-day, England winning by an innings and 119 runs. The Englishmen declared their first innings closed, with nine wickets down for 208 runs. Toowoomba made 62 in the first innings and 27 in the second. In the first innings Waddington took seven wickets for 29 runs. In the second innings • Parkin took five wickets for five runs, and Fender two for seven.
