' The High Court has delivered an important decision in a test case regarding the duties levied on imported Continental goods. The Customs Department has been levying duties upon the basis of the prewar face value of foreign coinage. Merchants contended that duties should be levied on the present-day equivalent values of the goods in British money. The Court, by a majority, decided against the Customs Department.
