CRICKET IN ENGLAND.
1921 TEST FIXTURES. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Dec. 7. The M.C.C. and the Australian Board of Cricket Control have fixed the following dates for the cricket tests in England during the Australian eleven's visit next year : — May 25, at Nottingham; June 6, at Lord's; July 2, aft Leeds; July 23, at Manchester ; August 13, at the Oval. The Australians will also meet the M.C.C. at Lord's on May 21. Owing to the exceptionally heavy programme for the 1921 cricket season it was a task of great difficulty to arrange the Australian fixtures in a manner involving the minimum amount of travelling for the tourists, but it is considered that the task has been successfully accomplished. In only two or three instances will backward and forward journeys be necessary. Special consideration has been given to the tests. There are 37 fixtures, commencing on April 30, and finishing early in September. The county matches will begin on April 30, which is much earlier than usual. The starting of the tests on Saturdays is probably based on last season's experience in county matches, in which the arrangements found popular favour. There are some unavoidable clashes between the tests and important local fixtures. The fourth test clashes with Surrey v. Kent and Notts v. Yorkshire, and the third test clashes with the University match.
