COAL FOR PORTLAND WORKS.

The Portland Cement Works are nowworking at full pressure, Wilsons. (New Zealand) Portland Cement Company having secured sufficient coal to. enable both kilns to. be worked regularly in the meantime. This will enable the company to increase its output considerably, consequently it is hoped that the shortage of cement, which has existed for some time past, will coon begin to disappear. The Board of Trade has arranged for 1250 tons of cement from Portland to be sent South to Lyttelton and Timaru by the Ngatoro next week. f
