EXPORT OF HIDES.
RESTRICTIONS REMOVED.
DECISION OF THE CABINET.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.]
WELLINGTON. Tuesday.
The Cabinet has decided to remove completely the restrictions on the export of hides from New Zealand. The restrictions .have not been operating to any extent for some time past.
AUCKLAND HIDES MARKET.
STILL WEAKER TONE
Very little business was transacted at the Auckland hide sales yesterday, the only demand being for a few picked lots by local tanners. Generally speaking, the tone of the market was even weaker than has been the case during the slump period of the last few weeks. The price offered for stout ox was B£d, light hides 5d to 7d.
