I A presentation wa« made durn- th' sitting of the North Auckland Land Hoard yesterday afternoon, to Sir. C. K. .Areft: bald, secretary to the board, •who v.as th,recipient of a gold watch from the ineni bers of the board and the staff on he occasion of his departure to tike up n similar position with the Otago J-an. I Board. The Crown Lands Ccmmtssionet Mr. K. P. GraviHe, -who made the presentation, spoke of the esteem in wlm-i Mr. Archibald was held by the board and the staff, and his unfailing courtesr toward the general public with whfiin hi came in contact. Mr. Archibald had been 40 years in the State's service, almost ?h----whole of this time having been spent with, the Lands and Survey Department. Mi Archibald, in acknowledging the presentation, said he had served in fr?e land dts tricts under li land commissioner*.
