HAMILTON SHOW.
VERY SATISFACTORY ENTRIES. [BY TELEGRAPH.— CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Sunday. The entries for the annual show of the Waiiato Agricultural and Pastoral Association have closed, and although there has been a falling off in some directions the numbers in the aggregate are very satisfactory. In many cases they are in advance of recent returns. Horse, cattle, and sheep sections are verv good in numbers. The Jersey and milking Shorthorn sections of cattle display are particularly strong this year, while "improvement has also to be chronicled in fat cattle and in sheep. There has not been the response in the pig section that might have been expected. This year the association has given . encouragement to the schools* classes, and the reward is the filling of all the classes provided. The draught horse entry has improved well in the breeders' classes, but the class for the town type of horse has not come up to expectations. Why this should be it is hard to say unless it is that the dimin- i : ished breeding of recent years is now hav- ! ing its effect. It is a contrast that while at Pukekohe the genaral purpose horse numbers are a feature, here it is found that they have fallen considerably. On the whole, however, the association is guaranteed a.fine all-round exhibition.
