TAXI-CAB MURDER.
ARREST OF BANK CLERK. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Seed. '11.5 pan.) LONDON, Sept. 7. William McConville, a bank clerk, who was conveying wages to a factory at Lawrencetown in a taxi-cab when the driver was killed, has been arrested on a charge of murdering the taxi-cab driver, McDowelL
The first report of the Lawrencetown affair stated that armed men shot dead William McDowell, who was driving a motor-car in which a bank clerk was conveying £1380 to pay wages at a factory. The clerk was severely beaten and the money stolen.
