CHARGES FOR GAS.
INVESTIGATION BY TRIBUNAL. The Auckland Prices Investigation Tribunal held a special sitting yesterday to consider a number of complaints regarding the charges for gas supplied during the period that the pressure was reduced by the Auckland Gas Company. A report was received from the company, and the tribunal dealt with a considerable amount of evidence on the subject. In this it was assisted by an expert who explained all the technical points raised. The tribunal will frame for the Board of Trade certain recommendations, which, it is understood, will be in the direction of a suggestion that future charges should be based upon the quality of the gas used.
