RAINFALL IN APRIL.
TOTAL OVER SIX INCHES. YEAR'S REGISTER TO DATE. NEARLY TWENTY INCHES. The rainfall in Auckland during April, as registered in Albert Park by the official observer, Mr. F. A. F. Burnett, amounted to 6.12 inches. Rain fell on 13 days, the highest daily record being 4.01 inches registered during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. on April 8. Ths fall in April, 1919, was 1.12 inches, the lowest for 34 years, or just five in dies less than last month's fall. The a*;rage rainfall for April is 3.30 inches. The highest record for the month was 3.31 inches in 1917, and the lowest .54 in 1885. The total rainfall for the first four months of the present year is 19.44 inches. For the corresponding period of last year the register was only 5.13 inches, whilst the total for the year, 1919, was 33.41 inches, as against a yearly average of 43.71 inches. The wettest yoar recorded in Auckland was 1917, when the total record was 74.51 inches.
