LOST IN ATLANTIC.

AMERICAN SHIP SINKS. VAIN SEARCH FOR CREW. A. and N.Z. LONDON, April 29. The White Star liner Baltic has arrived at Liverpool. She report* that when in mid-Atlantic, during a gale, she received a wireless summons from the steamer William O'Brien reporting that the hatch covers had gone and the vessel was making water rapidly. The Baltic, immediately steamed to her assistance. The wireless messages became unde cipherable, except the word sinking," repeated ecveral times. Other vessels also searched the spot, but no trace of the vessel or her crew could be found.

The William O'Brien is listed in Llovd's Register as an American steamer of 5211 tons, owned bv the Huron Navigation Corporation. She was built in 1915 at New York.
