VITAL STATISTICS.
INCREASED FIGURES FOR APRIL.
The vital statistics for April show an increase in the number of births, deaths, and marriages, as compared with the corresponding month of last year. The births last month totalled 254, whereas in April, 1919, the number was 231. The number of deaths recorded was 152, at against 134 in April last year. The marriages numbered 177, of which 41 were performed by the registrar, while last year the number of marriages in Apri. was 161, with 42 office ceremonies.
