COLLISIONS IN IRELAND.
ATTACKS ON- MILITARY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.15 a.m.) LONDON, April 28. A number of youths stoned three soldiers at Limerick. The soldiers chased their assailants, whereupon an unknown civilian threw a smoke bomb. Another fired a shot, fatally wounding a soldier. Armed men confronted three contables at Dingle station and seized their revolvers and ammunition. The constables fled, and the assailants fired, wounding one constable. While thousands of people at Arklow were celebrating" tho return of a hungerstriker a mob stoned a party of soldiers. The collision caused the troops to fire a volley. One civilian was killed and two others wounded. Two hundred armed men attacked the police barracks at Clonroche. Six defenders repulsed their assailants after two hours' incessant fighting.
Sixteen farmers were arrested at Roscommon in the act of cattle-driving.
