THREATS IN LIVERPOOL. Br Telegraphs-Press Association— Copyright (Received 12.5 a.m.) A. and N.Z. and Router. LONDON, April 28. Irish demonstrations at Wormwood Scrubbs caused counter demonstrations by a large crowd hostile to the Irishmen. Mud and stones were thrown, and free fighting for Sinn Fein flags took place. Five of the Sinn Fein prisoners, who , are hunger striking at Wormwood Scrubbs, ■were released yesterday. A deputation of Liverpool Irishmen to the Lord Mayor, threatened that Irishmen would hold up Liverpool industries unless all the Sinn Feiners were released from Wormwood Scrubbs within 48 hours. Similar threats have been made at other ports. A Sinn Fein demonstration at Glasgow in sympathy with the hunger strikers, ended in a collision with the police, who arrested the leader. An attempt by the crowd at rescue led the police to make a baton charge, in which several persons were injured. The demonstrators were dispersed.
