PANAMA CANAL TOLLS.
NO REBATE BY BRITAIN.
Australian and N.Z Cable Association.
(Reed. 9.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON, April 27.
The British. Embassy has advised the State Department that it is authorised officially to deny reports that the British Government is rebating to British shipowners tolls paid for passage through the Panama Canal. This information has been conveyed to the State Department, because it was reported that some American shippers accused the British Government of rebating tolls, thus giving British shippers a distinct advantage over American shippers.
