At a special • meeting of the Borough Council laet night the following tenders were received for the lease of the Town Hall with moving picture accessories for three years:— H. Dines (Tauranga), £650 per 'annum; G. Gardiner (Green Lane), £440; Wesley L." Grant (Whangamomona), £468; A. E. Edwards (Matamata), £572; E. W. Conchie (Tanranga), £572; F.W. Mfcikle (Tauranga), £600. Mr Dines* tender ttm- accepted. The council passed a vote of condolence with the widow and relatives of the late Mr. Geo. Vesev Stewart, who was the firsts Mayor of Tauranga. The council agreed to increase the wages paid to a number of its employees, the total increase amounting to £364 per 3.™^™
