FOUND WITH THROAT CUT.

WOMAN'S SUSPICIOUS DEATH

EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. [BT TELBGBAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

PALMEHSTON NORTH. Thursday. A coronial inquiry opened to-day concerning the circumstances under which Mary Etheline*Webby, a married woman, met her death, her body having been found with the throat cut -on Thursday morning last in an unformed street between Fitzroy and Bauhine Streets. Medical witnesses stated that there was a deep transverse incision across the neck, extending from a point two inches below the level of the left ear to a point tihree inches below that of the right ear. At the left extremity the wound had two jagged cots, and at the right extremity one jagged cut. The abdominal organs were quite healthy, and were no other unusual marks on the , body. Considerable force had been used to effect the injury on the throat. It was possible to have been self-inflicted, but the absence of any instrument would preclude this theory.. Considerable evidence was given by witnesses who saw deceased during the day preceding her death. Evidence was given by Percy Daniel Willis of seeing deceased in th& company of a man near the spot where the body was found on the evening preceding the tragedy. Next morning,' when witness was proceeding to milk some cows, -he found the deceased's 4 body and informed the police. At this stage the inquiry was adjourned to Tuesday next.
