KING HOLDS A LEVEE-

NEW DIPLOMATS PRESENTED.

GERMAN'S COLD RECEPTION. A. and N.Z. LONDON. March 24. The first levee since 1914 was held today at St. James' Palace. The King drove in semi-state, escorted by a detachment of Household Cavalry, whose khaki contrasted well with full-dress naval and military uniforms. The judge* attended iD their robes and wigs. Mr. Lloyd George and the Ministers wore levee dress. There were 400 presentations, a feature being the large number of representatives of new States, including Finland, Poland, and the Balkan States. Lord Curzon presented Herr von Sthamer, the new German Minister to Britain, whose arrival and departure were witnessed in frigid silence. Several Australians were presented.
