THE GERMAN INDEMNITY.

A DISPUTED RULING.

PROTEST BY AMERICA. (Received 9.45 p.m.) Renter. WASHINGTON, Mar. 19 (delayed.) Mr Frank L. Polk, who was head of the United States peace mission at Paris, states that the .United States strongly remonstrated against the rulings of the Allied Pveparation Commission that under the Varsailies treaty the sale of certain German property in neutral countries can be forced, if necessary, to satisfy the initial payment of the German indemnity. A further protest is being prepared because such a construction of the treaty is contrary to the official interpretation exchanged between Germany and the Allies.
