* POS TION IN WEST PACIFIC. A. and N.Z. WASHINGTON, Jan. 6. Mr. J. A. Reed, Democratic Senator, in the course of an interview, said that Japan's position as the result of the Paris conference was such as that within a few years she would be able to menace the western American coast and endanger the Pacific possessions of the United States.
