ACUTE COAL SHORTAGE. A. and N.Z. BERLIN. J". 6. The new official prices include flour 7fd a pound, bread 6jd and potatoes 3jd. Potatoes are in short supply, and a full ration will not be available until May. The price of butter is fixed at 12s 4d, representing a rise of 1 100 per cent. Margarine is 6s 5d and I meat 4s 3d, the ration being half a I pound weekly. There is an acute | shortage of coal. The majority of 1 houses seem without coal, and brij quettes are selling at £7 5s a ton.
