IRISH SECRET SERVICE.
HIGH DEVELOPMENT. CONTEST WITH SINN FEIN. Doited Service. LONDON, Jan. 5. The Scotland Yard and Dublin authorities are co-operating in the development of a highly efficient secret service for Ireland. Picked detectives arc engaged in a battle of wits with the admittedly marvellous intelligence system of the Sinn Fein. The Dublin correspondent of the Sunday Times says that well-known suspects are continuously watched and their movements recorded in innumerable dossiers. Where photographs are not obtainable the detectives stalk their quarry patiently to secure snapshots. The only handicap to the authorities' is the absence of tfcs informers who were available in fo"mer times.
