FORTUNE FOR RAILWAYMAN.
AN UNEXPECTED LEGACY.
Good fortune has come to a railway employee living in Remuera in the form of a fourth chare of £60,000, left by h.s father in England. The recipient, who .9 a man in his thirties, with a wife and three children, first, heard of the inattv from one of the blink? in the city, which announced that a draft was awaiting him. On making inquiries, it was ascertained that a sum of 53000 had been sent for w\rd as an instalment on account of tie immediately available securities, and that the remainder would be forthcoming in due coarse.
It appears that the man who left the fortune made it in St. Helena from the successful development of pliormium plantations, the fiar having been imported originally from New Zealand. The son, who had emigrated to the Dominion a few years ago, had lost touch nth the family for a time, and the legacy came unexpectedly.
