HOME RULE FOR IRELAND.
GOVERNMENT PROPOSALS. A BILL THIS SESSION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.30 turn.) LONDON. Dec. 5. The Daily Chronicle states that an Irish Home Rule Bill will be introduced soon, and that the Government hopes to complete the second reading before Christmas. : SINN FEIN TERRORISM. JUDGES' DENUNCIATION. Times. LONDON. Dec. 4. Crimes in Ireland were denounced at the opening of the Assizes at Cork by the Chief Justice. He said the root of the cause was the attitude of ; people who allowed themselves to be downtrodden by a comparatively small number of reckless, wicked men. He asked Irishmen to assert their dignity and manhood to end a state of things which was a disgrace to civilisation. Justices Kenny in Dublin and Dodd in Belfast spoke in similar strain. In addition to the Lord-Lieuten-ant's offer of a reward for information leading to the conviction of the murderers of police officers, the Under-Secretary of Ireland offers £500 reward and a free pardon to any but the actual miscreants.
