WIFE'S ALLEGED DESERTION.
APPLICATION FOR DIVORCE. An adjourned divorce action, William Thomas Kemp, of Auckland (Mr. E. Mahony), v. Mary Ann Kemp, of Eltham (Mr. Fleming), was continued before Mr. Justice Cooper at the Supreme Court on Saturday morning, when counsel's arguments on the evidence were heard. Desertion had b«en alleged by the petitioner, who said ho had provided a home for his wife at Auckland, but that she refused to live with him. When counsel for th e , petitioner began, Mr. Justice Cooper said it would be necessary to explain to the Court why no mention had been made of the fact that the Eetitioner's cousin, who had acted as his ousekeeper, and who had been mentioned as one of the causes of disagreement between the parties, had given birth to an illegitimate child. . Hie Honor said this information had been withheld from the Court. Moreover, petitioner had maintained that his relations with his cousin were entirely innocent. Petitioner's counsel said ha did not propose to discuss that aspect of the case. His Honor then said he would deliver I pose to discuss that aspect of the case. His Honor then said he would deliver written judgment this morning.
