SWAKOPMUND FIRE.
OUTBREAK EXTINGUISHED.
Australian and K.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 23.
The fire on the Swakopmund, in the Victoria Docks, has been extinguished. Apparently it was due to spontaneous combustion. The cargo consisted entirely of copra, of which all but 500 tons had been discharged before the outbreak. About 220 tons were totally destroyed. The prompt extinction of the fire was due to the Lucky chance that two floating fire engines, which had been working on the Prinz Hubertus, were still in the dock, and were able to start on .the outbreak within a few minutes.
